Participating in the Namibia WAO Program was a pivotal experience that opened the door to many career opportunities. In Namibia, I gained hands-on experience with aircraft platforms and the sensor systems used to collect data - skills that later helped me move into flight-test operations at Silicon Valley startups. Just as importantly, I learned that collecting data is only the beginning. Processing, cataloging, and using statistical methods to demonstrate that the data is relevant and supports a conclusion became foundational to my understanding of testing. Those skills proved invaluable as I advanced into positions with greater technical responsibility.

The program also gave me the opportunity to lead a team, strengthening the leadership skills I now use when managing teams in the workplace. Namibia WAO had a lasting impact on both my professional development and my confidence as an engineer and leader. I would strongly encourage prospective students to take advantage of this opportunity - not only for the practical experience and career preparation, but also for the lifelong friendships and memories they will carry with them.
